Following One Course- Wole Soetan

James 1:8 (MSG) Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

One tendency the natural man has is to make decisions based on what will satisfy the flesh at the spur of the moment . This self-gratifying system usually makes the law of focus a difficult one to practice.

As spiritual and mature Christians, the ability to focus is a key characteristic to ensuring your 100% victory. Once you have decided to follow Jesus, all other options have become closed to you. You cannot operate the kingdom of God on Sunday and keep switching back to the system of this world on Monday. It is consistency in the practice of the word of God that brings us results.

Just like the veterans of the Hall of Faith (Heb 11), we must develop a dogged tenacity of holding on to God. Noah followed one course of instruction and preserved his family in the process. Abraham held onto one course for 25 years and got an eternal reward. The Israelites obeyed the single course of a ridiculous battle strategy and came out victorious.
