Take Art Appreciation
Yep, I was just as confused as you are (I know you are brilliant, so I wasn’t referring to you), when I saw the title of this chapter for this first time. Let’s delve in, and see what Michelle has to say….
You are a work of art. Look in the mirror and face it! You may not say so,
but God does. When he made you, He said, “Oh, this is good!” (Yeah, I’m positive God exclaimed in delight when he made me. Call it exaggerated confidence if you please, I’ll call it undaunted certainty, hahaha). Look in the mirror, study each of your features, attach a scripture to them that makes them beautiful and personalize it. Keep repeating the verse (s) until it gets from your heart to your spirit.
The secret is knowing the source of real beauty. The real beauty tip is found at the end of a dissertation on a very beautiful woman in Proverbs. The writer sums up everything about her in one simple sentence. “Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain (because it is not lasting), but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised” (verse 30) (Doesn’t this just liberate you? True beauty comes from a relationship with God).
As we allow the love of God to change our nature and transform us into the Principles women he intended us to be, we blossom into beautiful flowers that others will want to stop and admire.
Learn to accept compliments gracefully. We will remain beautiful in the eye of the beholder until we convince him otherwise. So stifle the urge to point out your flaws that you think have gone unnoticed (This is!!!)
I really think we hurt God’s feelings and accuse him a liar when we think and accept that we are ugly. Firstly, he created you in his image and likeness. God isn’t ugly, is he? Then why have you somehow accepted that you are ugly? Get your heart together my dear!
Secondly, after he made you, he saw that “You were good”? Do you have a special kind of eyesight that surpasses that of God? I think not! So dearest babe, swallow it in, till you burst with the knowledge, ‘You are beautiful’!
Beauty starts and ends with God. I think that this liberates us from focusing too much on external and redirects our focus- to God, the only thing eternal in our lives. For me, I choose character over beauty, and guess what, only God can transform us into women the world would want to admire and pattern their lives after. A woman in a solid love relationship with God glows. (#Nuff sed)
Dearest sister, my advice to you today, start confessing everything God has said about you. Let it become the only truth in your heart. And frankly, speaking, it is the only truth!
See you tomorrow! Till then, ensure you look your beautiful self in the mirror, and soak in his truth- You are beautiful!
