So here we are!!! Today Michelle talks about “Learning How To Dress”. You”ll find that she went deeper than just the physical appearance. No doubt, looking good is good business, but Michelle here really talks about ‘Dressing Your Soul’. Let’s get to it!
Michelle says: So while you’re putting up your best face forward with a man, don’t forget your inner wardrobe. “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:3-4). Don’t be a temporary attraction. Go for beauty secrets that last! Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart, it’s safe to assume that a godly man—and that is the type of man you really want—is of the same mindset. He might be initially moved by what he sees, but eventually he’s going to look past that and begin checking out your spirit (1 Samuel 16:7)
Let me make a few wardrobe suggestions.
- Wear the right colour- The colour red is always stunning, it is the colour or redemption. And white undergarments are a must. This is the colour of purity.
- Get some good footwear. “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation” (Isaiah 52:7) If your conversation is always uplifting and you are someone who brings peace where there is anxiety and upheaval, who always has a word to encourage, to exhort, to liberate the mind and set the spirit free, he (everyone for that matter) will be happy to see you coming.
- Complete the outfit- Cover your breast with righteousness (Prov. 16:7); cinch in your waist with the belt of truth. Not your personal truth, God’s truth. Crown your head with salvation, it affects your mindset. The sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith are fabulous accessories that definitely make a power statement.
Personal Note: All I have is a word of advice, ‘Never dress your body at the expense of your soul. Life is inside-out, never the other way round.
